Membership Levels & Benefits

Annual memberships and dues levels are:

  •  Individual membership $32
  •  Family or Household membership $40 (may include up to four persons living together)
  •  Student membership $16 (with presentation of valid student ID)
  •  Secondary membership $16 (member of another chapter that has paid dues to the state organization on their behalf)

Member dues are payable on an annual basis. They may be paid any time during the renewal month to be considered current. Payment can be taken online or by traditional check and mail. Payment of dues entitles a member to receive regular email communication from the chapter.

A paid member is also a member of the state CAS organization and receives quarterly issues of state CAS publications:

  • ‘Southwestern Lore: the CAS Journal’ and
  • ‘The Surveyor: CAS Quarterly Newsletter’

Participation in field trips is a major benefit of membership and a current membership is required to attend field trips.

Two additional opportunities you will be informed about through chapter and state newsletters are:

(neither require CAS membership)

  • Program for Avocational Archaeological Certification (PAAC) weekend classes offered for very low cost through History Colorado and the office of the state archaeologist
  • Colorado Archaeological Society annual meetings, held in a different host city each year
